Boat & Yacht Detailing for Gelcoat, GRP and Painted Surfaces
Oberflächen-Team provides professional boat and yacht exterior surface detailing — including cleaning, decontamination, polishing and protective sealing of gelcoat, GRP and painted surfaces. The focus is on a clean finish, long-term value preservation and material-specific care.
When professional detailing is useful
Boat and yacht detailing is worthwhile whenever exterior surfaces have lost gloss, appear dull or show visible effects of salt, UV exposure, dirt or light weathering. Depending on condition, we clean, polish, refine and seal the surface in a controlled, material-safe process — with the minimum necessary material removal.
- 01before the start of the season or after longer lay-up periods
- 02ahead of handover, delivery or pre-sale preparation
- 03after yard work, refit measures or transport
- 04when gelcoat, GRP or paint appears dull, hazy or oxidised
- 05where salt, UV exposure and weathering are already visible
- 06as a recurring service to maintain high-value exterior surfaces

Gelcoat, GRP and paint require different treatment
Gelcoat and GRP behave differently than PU topcoats. Layer thickness, hardness, sensitivity to abrasives and response to polishing vary significantly, and universal polishing routines quickly lead to unnecessary material loss. Each step is adapted to the material — from product choice and pad selection to speed, pressure and dwell time. See also gelcoat polishing, yacht paint care and boat polishing.
Protective sealing and easier maintenance
After cleaning and polishing, exterior surfaces are stabilised with a protective sealing suited to the material. A well-applied polymer or glass protection layer reduces the adhesion of dirt, salt and mineral deposits, so routine washing and onboard care become significantly easier — and the detailing result lasts longer. Who this service is ideal for
Our boat and yacht detailing is designed for private boat and yacht owners, captains, yacht management teams, shipyards, refit projects, marinas, winter storage facilities and pre-sale preparation. It is particularly useful before the season, ahead of handover or delivery, following yard work, or as a recurring service to maintain the condition of high-value exterior yacht surfaces. As an extended offering, see also yacht care — the overarching maintenance of exterior surfaces in gelcoat, GRP, PU topcoats, teak, stainless steel, glass and non-skid areas.
Germany, Baltic Sea, North Sea — and Europe-wide for selected projects
We work mobile, directly at the boat — at the berth, in winter storage or inside a hall. Our regional focus is Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and the Baltic and North Sea coasts. Larger detailing and refit support projects are carried out Germany- and Europe-wide by arrangement.
